A Silversmith from a Farming Village

A man from the canton of Obwalden in the heart of Switzerland ventured out into the world and gained renown with his works as a gold- and silversmith: Meinrad Burch-Korrodi (1897-1978) from the farming village of Giswil. Most of his work is dispersed all over the world, but the Burch-Korrodi Foundation has donated a part of its collection to the artisan’s home canton. We have rebuilt the room that had been destroyed by the flood of 2005, so that Meinrad Burch-Korrodi’s beautiful masterpieces once again give testimony of his beautiful work.
